Reference Shelf - Presentation on Innovative Technologies for Stripper Well Operators
Innovative Technologies for Stripper Well Operators
Authors: Ken Oglesby, Impact Technologies LLC.
Venue: Tertiary Oil Recovery Project’s 17th Annual Oil Recovery Conference, Wichita, KS, April 4–5, 2007 (http://www.torp.ku.edu/ [external site]).
Abstract: No abstract was available for this presentation. Two of the technologies to be discussed are part of NETL’s Microhole Technology Initiative; two others are covered by the NETL-supported Stripper Well Consortium.
Related NETL Projects: The goal of the related NETL project entitled “Advanced Mud System for Microhole Coiled Tubing Drilling” (DE-FC26-03NT15476 ) is to develop a mud system compatible with a coiled tubing drilling system to drill microholes for vertical, horizontal, and multilateral drilling and completion applications. A secondary objective was to develop a cost-effective abrasive jet drilling system in tandem with the advanced mud system optimized for microhole coiled tubing drilling. The goal of the related NETL project “Advanced Ultra-High-Speed Motor for Drilling” (DE-FC26-04NT15502) is to design two sizes of ultra-high-speed (10,000 rpm) electric inverted configured motors for microhole drilling. The goal of the related NETL project “Establishment of an Industry-Driven Consortium Focused on Improving the Production Performance of Domestic Stripper Wells” (DE-FC26-00NT41025) is to help keep stripper wells operating by developing low-cost technologies. The projects that Impact Technologies developed with funding under the Stripper Well Consortium focused on an advanced abrasive jet drilling system and on a novel, single-stage water mitigation treatment system.
