NETL Gasification Systems Program's Systems and Industry Analyses Studies provide invaluable information, and help to ensure that the technologies being developed are the best ones to develop. System studies are often used to compare competing technologies, determine the best way to integrate a technology with other technologies, and predict the economic impact of successful development. They may be used to predict how that successful impact will vary based on a variety of external factors such as the cost of natural gas and the value of carbon credits (should laws be passed on carbon dioxide sequestration).
