The overall goal of this program is to commercially produce and market lightweight structural posts, crib members, and blocks from coal combustion by-products for use in underground mines. In addition, the performance of the manufactured posts, crib elements, and blocks will be monitored in the field after installation to ensure the desired level of performance.
