There could be as much as 5,700 years of CO2 storage potential available in geologic formations in the United States and portions of Canada, according to the latest edition of DOE's Carbon Sequestration Atlas.

"Sour" Gas Streams Safe for Carbon Sequestration, DOE-Sponsored Study Shows
Gas streams containing high levels of both carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide can be safely used for carbon capture and storage, according to results from a field test completed by the Plains CO2 Reduction Partnership.
