2011 West Virginia Science Bowl Results

Wheeling Park High School Wins West Virginia Science Bowl, Sets Sights on National Competition in Washington, D.C.

Wheeling Park High School demonstrated its academic prowess as it defeated 15 other schools today to capture the 20th Annual West Virginia Regional Science Bowl and earn an expense-paid trip to the National Science Bowl® scheduled for April 28-May 2, 2011, in Washington, D.C.

Members of the winning team are Rocky Diegmiller, Dana Holmstrand, Angelique Barbeau, Robert Sellers and Lucas Runyan, and Patrick Durkin, coach. In addition to the Washington, D.C., trip, the winning team will also receive a traveling trophy to keep for a year, as well as individual medals and other prizes. The second-, third-, and fourth-place finishers were, respectively, Parkersburg High School, Morgantown High School, and Fairmont West Senior High School.
