2012 Gasification Technologies Conference: AVESTAR Presentation and Exhibit Booth with Demo of IGCC Dynamic Simulator and 3D Virtual System

NETL’s Advanced Virtual Energy SimulationTraining and Research (AVESTAR™) Center will be highlighted at the 2012 Gasification Technologies Conference in Washington DC on October 28-31.  In Session 12: Advances in Gasification Technologies I on Wednesday, October 31 at 8:00am, the conference’s technical program will feature a presentation on AVESTAR’s simulators, facilities, and industry workforce training, enhanced engineering education, and collaborative R&D programs with special emphasis on the operation and control of integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power plants with carbon capture.  An AVESTAR exhibit booth (#54) will offer convenient access to members of the Center’s technical and business development teams; comprehensive information on the Center’s training, education, and R&D programs; and live video and hands-on demonstrations of the gasification section of the IGCC dynamic simulator and 3D virtual immersive training system deployed at the Center.   The GTC Conference is the largest gasification event in the world, attracting speakers and participants from the Americas, Europe, China and India.  The conference covers all aspects of the gasification industry including: Energy Policy; Gasification Projects & Technology Updates; Biomass and Waste Gasification; Gasification for Chemicals, Fuels, Power, and Poly-Generation; Global Gasification Markets; and Gasification-Related Technology Advancements and Improvements.
